Samenvatting

How to combine and translate data from crops scan by satellite, aircraft or tractor applied crop sensors with onsite data from soil and crops to relevant strategic and operational actions by the farmer.

Yield and input levels need improvement in Russia. Output of the farms is extremely variable and in general far below what could be reached. Also the inputs used to obtain the yields are suboptimal. Therefor the development of the potato production and it´s industries is hampering in Russia.

Data gathered from satellites and fields give useful information on situations in the fields with (potato) crops. However this data needs to be translated into situations in the fields and strategic and operational actions to be taken by the farmer.

By doing so potato production will be lifted to a higher level with better yields, higher quality, more efficient inputs (lower input per kg of potato) and consequently lower factory gate prices and a more competitive potato chain in Russia.
