Samenvatting
The feasibility to operate Dairy Innovation Centres in China, aimed at optimizing milk production, by reduction of cost price and increasing yield. What is the current performance of Chinese dairy companies compared with world benchmark; gap analysis; operational plan to become competitive.
China needs to significantly increase milk production to fulfil future nutrition needs of its growing population. Current cost price and yield are not competitive, compared to the world market and to imports of milk powder. Dutch dairy expertise is requested to be implemented; Dutch companies need a joint platform to apply their expertise.
A Chinese company: Huishan Dairies and a Dutch consortium consisting of members of Dairy Campus and dairy companies that have expressed their interest during the meeting “Gecoördineerde aanpak voor de Nederlandse varkens- en zuivelketen op de Chinese markt“ on January 16th 2013 in Wageningen, have expressed their interest to be involved in such a project; the proposed model is that a consortium of Dutch companies, covering the total milk production chain, apply their expertise, the Chinese dairy offers its dairy farm inclusive life stock.
