There is a need in the market for new, sustainable manufacturing solutions for the packaging industry. Furthermore there is a need of increasing the value of rest streams in various applications. Ozephius Development s interested in developing a process for the manufacturing of (rigid) thin walled containers, with a good water resistance, from starch rest streams. A way to approach this challenging and innovative concept is by means of chemical modification of starch. This concept is very interesting for Duynie as well, because they are exploring routes to increase the value and application field of starch rest streams.
