ENZYCLE richt zich op enzymatische back-to-monomer recycling van slecht te recyclen plastic polymeren en fracties. Voor polyolefine microplastics wordt gezocht naar nieuwe enzymen en micro-organismen. Daarnaast zullen polyesterafbrekende enzymen worden geïdentificeerd en verbeterd. Voor beide onderdelen zullen processen worden ontwikkeld met als toepassingsgebieden: multilayer-verpakkingsmaterialen (voedingsmiddelenindustrie en de landbouwsector) en waterzuiveringsinstallaties.
