Summary
The project addresses challenges in poultry and insect rearing sectors to increase food security in Nigeria. The goal is to create a constant demand for insect slurry, by introducing this local and reliable source of protein and energy for poultry. By leveraging Dutch expertise, insect slurry production and application in feed will be adapted to the socio-economic and climate condition of Nigeria increases the insect slurry technology readiness level in a collaboration between Dutch and Nigerian private sectors and knowledge institutes with official support of Dutch Embassy. The feasibility study improves the access of insect farmers to financial resources and employability align with the ongoing impact cluster, Insect4Feed, and contribute to the local government strategies. This project will strengthen the consortium, and the position of the Netherlands as a knowledge provider.
