Summary

This SMP focuses on securing the psyllium supply chain, which is an important food supplement, a critical ingredient for producing gluten-free bakery products, as well as for enhancing the use of climate resilient crops like alternative grains and pulses into attractive healthy food applications. We bring together Dutch and Indian businesses and knowledge institutes to jointly improve our understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the current production and supply chain of Psyllium. A roadmap will be created on the innovations identified and how the consortium will address them beyond this project, to improve the availability and affordability of the ingredient to the Dutch industry.
