The core purpose of a foreseen multi-annual project is to develop a Pig Academy, being a training and a demo centre for modern pig farming. The aim of this Academy will be to promote and demonstrate sustainable pig farming according to European (EU) societal standards (i.e. welfare, environment, antibiotics, etc.). Ukraine is far lagging behind in any terms in pig production. The Pig Academy will also function as a demo centre for Dutch equipment, breeding material, feed, as well as farm and data management, as showcase for the Dutch/western production standards, and as export gate for Dutch companies involved. The Seed Money Project focuses on defining the goals and ambition of the Pig Academy, defining a business model, creating a consortium and drafting a project proposal.
