The Spanish organic greenhouse sector is (one of) the largest in Europe. In general the organic greenhouse sector is facing challenges to achieve required nitrogen fertilization whilst adhering to the principles of organic farming. In Spain additional issues occur due to scarce availability of water and contimination of water due to farming techniques. VitalFluid is an expertise centre on plasma technology that has developed equipment that can produce plasma activated water, containing high levels of nitrogen without the drawbacks of existing nitrogen fertilizers, so-called Bioplasma Fertilizer. The technology of VitalFluid is ready for market introduction and Spain appears to be a potential market for Bioplasma Fertilizer. The aim of the project is to develop a roadmap for the introduction of Bioplasma Fertilizer in the Spanish organic greenhouse sector.
